“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.”- Psalm 1:1-2
I saw this was the verse of the day on Biblegateway and I thought it was about time that I write another blog….so going along with this verse, I wanted to share what I have been doing with God’s word lately.
My home church in Longwood (Northland) played an interview with this couple who made a commitment to write out then ENTIRE Bible…..what a feat to accomplish! They explained that it was just a way to make God’s word come alive. Just like taking noted in school, you really do remember things more clearly if you read it and write it down.
This really inspired me so I am attempting to do it! I modified it a bit and my first goal is to write out the entire book of Psalms. I started a week ago and I am in the middle of writing out chapter 6. So far it has been amazing…I find myself recalling verses much easier, and I just have an overall feel that I am closer to God’s word. Writing it out helps me meditate on it and have the Word at the front of my mind. I also find myself getting things out of the verses that I have never gotten before….just a deeper understanding. Its amazing:)
So, I encourage you to take this journey through the Psalms with me! Take a chapter a day…. a few verses a day….whatever works for you. But I promise it will be worth it. I’d love for us to encourage each other and share things we have been learning:)
